Changing times require new knowledge. CLIFA is a simple, but conceptually strong course in finance that helps the salesperson in any level in the sales hierarchy to learn the fundamentals of finance that today’s market conditions demand.

The Course will teach you how to sell traditional life insurance products in a market where customers are increasingly becoming more knowledgeable about financial matters. At the same time the Course teaches you how to sell ULIPs, especially to higher net worth individuals.


Options for undertaking the Course

CLIFA can be undertaken either as a classroom course or through correspondence. If the Course is undertaken in a classroom there will be 10 classroom days and all Courseware will be provided to the trainee during the classroom training.

You can also undertake this Course through correspondence. The Courseware and the Workbooks will be sent by post from time to time. After a completed Workbook is back to IIST for evaluation, the new set of Courseware, including Workbook, will be sent.


Faculty : Highly dedicated faculty with years of experience in financial planning, life insurance sales, marketing and in training will conduct the course.


Eligibility : Evaluation for certification shall take place on the extent of skill absorption in the classroom, on the extent of its application on the field, 100 % attendance in the classroom, meeting the production norms of the course and the completion of all assignments. In addition there will be a written test of 3 hours duration for a maximum of 100 marks.


Evaluation : The conditions for certification include, amongst other conditions, demonstrated daily working habits as prescribed, achieving business targets and maintaining the prescribed records. On successful completion of the Course IIST will issue a certificate of merit.

Your responsibilities : IIST guarantees the effectiveness of the program and teaching content on the condition that you will implement all that is taught in the Program. It is your responsibility to implement the suggestions made in the Program.


Duration : 10 days. The group seeking training can decide whether they want training for 10 continuous days or whether they would like to spread the 10 training days over a period of time. The program can be successfully undertaken over a period of 3 months.


Locations for classroom training : Pune, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Tiruchchirappalli, Alappuzha, and Khozikhode The Course can also be conducted at any other location subject to a minimum of 35 confirmed participants.


Fee : Rs. 20,000 per person (non-residential) for the course for the classroom mode The fee for the correspondence mode will be Rs.15,000. Fee includes courseware, lunch and tea during the program days, post training mentorship in person for Pune/Bhubaneshawar/Cuttack/ Tiruchchirappall/Alappuzha/Khozikhode based trainees and on the phone or email for traineesat other locations.

The fee does not include participant lodging, breakfast, dinner and other snacks. It also does not include trainers’ outstation travel, boarding and lodging for locations other than Pune, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Tiruchchirappalli, Alappuzha, and Khozikhode.

For locations other than Pune, Bhubaneshwar, Cuttack, Tiruchchirappalli, Alappuzha, and Khozikhode: In addition to the fee the organizers will be required to pay for the cost of travel, boarding and lodging of the trainers as extra.


How to register : You will need to form a group of at least 35 persons in your town in order to undertake this Course in the classroom mode. There is no minimum number limit for correspondence mode. Even one person can apply at a time.
